The Iraqi government rejects US Congress project



Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, Wednesday evening, his country's rejection of the proposed draft law in the Foreign Relations Committee in the US Congress, and called for the cessation of the project which will lead to further divisions in the region, he said.

According to a press statement by the Information Office of the Council of Ministers of Iraq, that Abbadi emphasized that any arming will be only through the Iraqi government, according to the plans set by the military.

And calls on Congress's decision to provide the "peshmerga" Kurdish and Sunni tribal aid directly if the Iraqi government has not fulfilled its obligations under the draft resolution, as proposed imposes conditions on Baghdad in exchange for aid, notably be given to minorities is Shiite role in leading the country within three months after Adoption of the law, and end its support for the Baghdad militia, but is frozen and 75 percent of aid to Baghdad, and sending more than 60% of them directly to the Kurds and Sunnis.

The statement pointed out that while the Iraqi government welcomes the efforts of all the countries that stand by Iraq in its war against al Daash terrorist, and give him military aid, they all rest assured that the deal with the Iraqi government was still evident in the respect for Iraqi sovereignty, which is set by the Within constants and ongoing assurances in talks with these countries and there is no double dealing with by external parties.
