Fuertes nevadas paralizan Rusia y Ucrania Las autoridades han decretado el estado de emergencia debido a las fuertes nevadas que han cubierto la mayor parte del país. En la capital, Kiev, cubierta por un manto blanco de medio metro, quitanieves y vehículos blindados del ejército recorren las calles. "Los autobuses y tranvías están bloqueados. Hay que ir caminando y puede llevarte 2 o 3 horas ir a cualquier parte. Las calles están cortadas, los quitanieves no pueden hacer nada. La ciudad está paralizada", cuenta un hombre.

El Kremlin se suma al gran apagón eléctrico contra el cambio climático Unas 7.000 ciudades en todo el mundo apagan este sábado las luces para tomar conciencia sobre el cambio climático. A esta iniciativa, llamada ´La hora del planeta´, se ha sumado por primera vez el Kremlin, el monumento más famoso de toda Rusia. Durante una hora en la noche tanto monumentos históricos, como los hogares y empresas de 7.000 ciudades en todo el mundo se unen a un gran apagón eléctrico. En la capital de Rusia la acción involucra este año a 86 edificios públicos, además del Kremlin, el edificio de la Universidad Estatal de Moscú. ´La hora del planeta´, organizada por la WWF, arrancó en 2007 en la ciudad australiana de Sídney como una iniciativa local y puntual y ha acabado convirtiéndose en una cita anual y global. La campaña está considerada como la más grande para conservar el medio ambiente.
