'White House panicked over midterms'

Robert Gibbs made less than flattering words about the far left who he said won't be satisfied until we have Canadian health care and the Pentagon is eliminated. Brent Budowsky said that the comments were made because the White House is panicked about the midterm elections. He adds that the fundamental problem is that President Obama promised transformational change but has not done everything he has promised.

The Sons of Iraq are being offered more than their government salaries by al-Qaida to switch sides and fight against American troops. Jake Diliberto, a former marine who served in Iraq said buying allies and friends never works. He argued that al-Qaida is growing because of the continued NATO and American presence in the Middle East, not because they are being bought off. Iraqis need to be a part of the process to shape their government, they have to take part in their nation state to build it, said Diliberto. Every day troops remain in the region there is fuel for al-Qaida to go, he argued.

Dow fall highlights government failure

As global investors took a bleaker view of the economy, stocks and interest rates tumbled. The Dow Jones average fell 265 points and all other major indexes fell more than 2 percent. Investigative journalist Webster Tarpley said this is evidence the stimulus and other government efforts have failed. Some of the money has aided the banks, but failed to bolster the greater economy.

A main focus for the GOP and Tea Partiers this midterm election might be at the expense of another group, Muslims. The Republicans are attempting to instill Islamaphobia into America and high profile party members are adding fuel to the fire. Abdul Amim Musa says the government has selected Muslims as the enemy and has manufactured the events and situations which justifies its oppression.

A subject that has delivered without fail is the right's main issue of this 2010 election: Islamophobia. It's the beginning of the Islamic holy month for Muslims all over the world and while many are gearing up for the festivities and celebrations, others are worried the month could see an uptick in anti-Muslim actions nationwide. According to the Council on American Islamic Relations, the rise in Islamophobia stems from the plans to build an Islamic center new Ground Zero in New York City and separate campaigns launched by right-wing groups around the country.

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs made a comment about "the professional left being on drugs", which has put him in a bit of hot water. Gibbs says that he stands by his comments but should he get of his high horse and apologize? Robert Cockburn says that the left does not have much to be happy about and probably should smoke dope amid two wars and an awful economy.

Google's South Korean headquarters have been raided because of allegations that the internet giant stole private information from the nation's citizens. Google's CEO Eric Schmidt, a member of the Bilderberg group, has called for a new internet that will have a slow lane for porn and shopping but the value added content is only for those who can pay. Wayne Madsen adds that the Obama administration wants to shut the internet down to those who cannot pay for it or don't have enough political influence.

US bribes failing in Iraq

American troops are continuing to pull out of Iraq but what will happen once the troops are out of the country? Sources have told the Guardian that Al-Qaeda is offering former allies more money than the government, if they rejoin Al-Qaeda's rank. Raed Jarrar says that the same people who the United States has bought off politicians in Iraq are the same people that would be willing to be bought off by Al-Qaeda.
