The tenth anniversary of the terrorist attacks of 9/11 are days away and Dick Cheney has released a new book chronicling his experience during his time as vice president. In the book the former vice president gives his recollection of what happened on that dreadful day, and his account contradicts what former President Bush recalls. Cheney has been called a war criminal by many, but still to this day he defends the decisions that were made regarding torture and other controversial issues. Ray McGovern, former CIA analyst, gives us more info on the former vice-president.
One can hope that one day Bush, Cheney and the rest will be put in their proper place in history with the rest of their friends along side Hilter and the rest.

Obama could hold Internet kill switch
Obama could hold Internet kill switch
There is a major debate over new legislation and the impact it could have on the Internet has people from the tech world and Capital Hill talking. There is a clause that will allow the President to pull the plug on the Internet and stop people from accessing it. CNET's Declan McCullagh joins RT's Kristine Frazao to discuss this and other hot web issues.

Is porn immune to the economy?
Is porn immune to the economy?
More people than ever are watching porn, and high demand is helping the industry grow. While the porn industry isn't immune to the recession, it's booming enough to keep lots of people employed and working at a time when California is battered by record unemployment. Gram Ponante says the reason the porn industry has taken a hit during the recession is because there is so much porn available it is driving the value down.

US police state in full focus
US police state in full focus
Most cell phones these days have cameras on them; as a result American police are lashing out and confiscating cameras or arresting people recording them. Is this the start of a police state in the United States? YouTube commentator George Hemminger says I can't believe in America, a free country, we are putting people in jail because they are recoding police officers doing their jobs.

'A militarization of US police'
'A militarization of US police'
US police have waged war, not on drugs but on video recording devices. Do Americans stand a chance when it comes to watching the watchmen? Radley Balko, Senior Editor for Reason Magazine says Congress or State Legislatures need to pass laws making this explicit, that you have a constitutional right to record government officials in public while on duty. Without that there will always be this kind of ambiguity.

US corporations destroying America
US corporations destroying America
Corporate America has convinced many in Washington that what is good for them is good for America. Naturally, a tax cut would be in line for them in order to keep pace with countries like China, the same countries these corporations outsource jobs too. The Market Ticker's Karl Denninger says shuffling the deck around doesn't change the problem. When you offshore labor, you can effectively hire slaves in places like China and put your production in places where they don't care if you put your toxic waste in the water.

'Visa lottery is stupid!'
'Visa lottery is stupid!'
Officially called the Diversity Visa lottery, it is offered by the US State Department in countries with low rates of immigration to the United States. Winners, chosen through a random computer-generated lottery, are given permanent resident visas to live, work and study in the US. Executive Director at the Center for Immigration Studies Mark Krikorian says the visa lottery is probably exhibit A for the stupidest and most inefficient part of our immigration system.

Alex Jones: DEA uses drug war to spy worldwide
The United States government allegedly infused drugs into our inner cities in order to keep minorities down and destabilize world governments. Radio host Alex Jones says it wasn't just about destabilizing inner cities and financing revolutions overseas. It was also about the 100 of billions of dollars laundered in drugs through large western banks, they then lobbied Congress to expand prison complexes they own and sell stock in

US media turns back on minorities
As more minorities fall through the cracks that the CIA has created through drug addiction, why has mainstream media largely ignored this epidemic or discounted any investigation into this problem? Georgetown University Professor Chris Chambers says investigative reporting has been suffering for a number of years and good reporting is bad business, so you have the corporatization of mainstream media.

Obama cuddles up to Wall Street
Obama cuddles up to Wall Street
In Washington DC, there are many relationships being formed between Wall Street and US politicians. Half way through President Obama's first term, what has he shown as a result of his economic policies with an economy still sputtering? Author Les Leopold says President Obama's Administration is filled with ex-Wall Street bankers, which solidifies the obvious; Obama has no intention of a Wall Street crackdown. He is going to let the largest banks get bigger, they are going to walk off with wild profits and bonus' and he is going to hope it doesn't crash on his watch

School Fetish: Learning as the clothes come off
After nearly 50 years of functioning as a school and community center, the Pioneer School in Neoga, Illinois has been converted into a strip club called "The School House". Bob Kearney, a recently laid off union electrician, who has turned misfortune into opportunity started the gentleman's club to create jobs, for himself and others. However, many in the community are unhappy with their new neighbor.

US Army: Onward Christian soldiers?
US Army: Onward Christian soldiers?
Is there no freedom of musical choice in the US armed forces? US Army posts in VA have been putting on a series of so-called Spiritual Fitness Concerts. But "spiritual fitness" is merely the military's new term for promoting evangelical Christianity. Religious scholar and US military veteran Jake Diliberto explained there is a strong Christian influence in the US military that goes back to the early founding of the military and today the religious right in America has very strong influence in the US national security system.

While attendance is not mandatory, those who opt-out are usually punished. Is there no freedom of musical choice in the US armed forces? RT's Cedric Moon Reports.

Gerald Celente's Top Predictions for 2011
Gerald Celente's Top Predictions for 2011
What's in store for the world in 2011? Trends forecaster Gerald Celente of the Trends Research Institute provided his insights on the year ahead. He argues here will be a wakeup call on the economy, a crack down on the people and a loss of liberty, and also an increase in Journalism 2.0, alternative energy and a growth in cyber war tactics. And in the end, the world will end... what that means, only Celente knows.

Pentagon's propaganda in full view
With the Afghanistan war going so poorly there has been an outpouring of emotions, an LA artist decided to make a mural depicting a dollar draped over a casket on a side of a building. Many believe this is revolting but some like Founder of Brave New Films Robert Greenwald says this indicates how brilliant the Pentagon has been at increasing censorship, so anything that goes against their propaganda will be shot down or in this case covered up.

New Year, Same Afghan problems
The United States has been at war for over 9 years in Afghanistan but has yet to see major gains despite claims from the Obama Administration that there has been significant progress. Voices for Creative Nonviolence Co-coordinator Kathy Kelly says this is a land that belongs to the people of Afghanistan. A prior question should be what do Afghan people want for their country? Not, what kind of designs does the United States have on their resources around their geo-political placement.

Instead of investigating further, the mainstream media appears to be more concerned with entertainment news, such as the Kardashian's new product, than a war that has claimed the lives of thousands of Americans and innocent Afghan civilians. Founder of Brave New Films Robert Greenwald says I think it's a combination of factors; first of all, it's only been in the last 5 or so years that the networks have forced news to become an income source the same way they look at sports or entertainment.

A recent report shows the Obama Administration is trying to figure out a way to get the word out about a possible attack. The US has released a 130 page report called "Planning Guidance for Response to a Nuclear Detonation", it is about what the United States and its citizens should do in case a nuclear bomb went off at home.

Israel war crimes, your tax dollars at work
A pro-Palestinian organization - The Seattle Mideast Awareness Campaign - had purchased ad space on twelve Seattle King County Metro Transit buses alleging Israeli war crimes in Gaza and featuring the tag line: "your tax dollars at work." Edward Mast from the Seattle Mideast Awareness Campaign says human rights violations have been found on both sides but Israeli war crimes are far greater in number and far more under reported in this country.
