El vídeo de un activista herido por una bala de goma es la prueba de las represiones policiales más agresivas desde el principio de las manifestaciones en Oakland.
Un videasta grababa la huelga general y al pasar frente a los policías les preguntó "¿todo está bien?" cuando recibió por respuesta un disparo disuasivo.
El oficial aún no ha sido identificado.
En la ciudad de Oakland una huelga general pacífica se convirtió en un evento violento en el que se repiten los incidentes de la última semana de octubre. La marcha con más de 4.500 manifestantes se transformó en un hecho cruel y sin compasiones. Las fuerzas de seguridad, que están usando gases lacrimógenos y pistolas con balas de goma contra los activistas, han detenido ya a centenares de participantes de la protesta, mientras que los testigos aseguran de que se puede hablar de decenas de heridos. Varias personas fueron atropelladas por coches de la policía.

El jurado de la Corte Superior de Los Ángeles (EE. UU.) ha declarado culpable por homicidio involuntario del cantante Michael Jackson a su médico personal, Conrad Murray. Este fue inmediatamente puesto bajo custodia y permanecerá en prisión hasta que se dictamine su sentencia el 29 de noviembre.
El veredicto fue anunciado ante los abogados y familiares de los implicados después de que los doce miembros del jurado informaran este lunes que habían llegado a un acuerdo para valorar la responsabilidad que tuvo el médico en el fallecimiento del cantante.
El jurado comenzó a deliberar el viernes pasado, un día después de que la fiscalía y la defensa hicieran sus alegatos finales en el juicio, que comenzó el 27 de septiembre.

Glenn Beck is now officially off the air at Fox News - he wrapped up his last show on the channel yesterday. While some might be sad that his Fox days are done, for others the movie is nothing but good news. The question remains, though: what impact has Beck had on American culture over these last few years. Sam Seder the host of the Majority Report, contemplates the issue and speaks about what influence Beck might have had on the political landscape today.

Half of all unemployed Americans have been out of job for six months, 44 million Americans are on food stamps, American home sales dropped by $ 6.3 trillion since the housing crisis appeared and CNN are asking the next potential American president about pizza?
