Fighting to protect Julian Assange, WikiLeaks

As the WikiLeaks saga continues, the United States is preparing to indict WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange for conspiring to violate the Espionage Act of 1917. Many believe the United States should protect Assange rather than punish him, including Rosenberg Fund for Children founder Robert Meeropol who is the son of famed convicted spies Julius and Ethel Rosenberg. He says under the constitution there is a line that is drawn between legitimate dissent and treason, the founders of our country decided that speech alone could never be considered treason. It would be a violation of the first amendment of our Constitution

America's nuclear, Cold War hysteria


A recent report shows the Obama Administration is trying to figure out a way to get the word out about a possible attack. The US has released a 130 page report called "Planning Guidance for Response to a Nuclear Detonation", it is about what the United States and its citizens should do in case a nuclear bomb went off at home.

Are Americans prepared for a nuclear strike?


At the height of the Cold War, Americans were worried that at any moment the country could become engaged in a nuclear war with the Soviet Union. The federal government built thousands of fallout shelters across the country and bombarded the airwaves with public service announcements about what to do in the event of an attack. Today, only remnants of this era still exist. But has the threat of a nuclear strike really disappeared? And are Americans prepared if it were to happen?
