With the US government is spending billions on wars abroad but neglecting its own people at home the holiday season looks bleak. Congress leaves unemployed Americans in the cold

Hundreds of thousands of Americans will see their federal unemployment benefits expire this week, and millions more by the end of the year, just in time for the holiday season. Economist Max Fraad Wolff says there is a lot of room to cut the deficit instead of these benefits, starting with military which spends more than half the world's defense budget

Just ahead of the G20 summit, there is a new report which came out recently stating the United States' economy will be overtaken by China in the next two years. Should the American people be worried about their livelihoods? US economy: Don't be optimistic


Across much of Europe there is skepticism and panic about the economy ever turning around, however in the United States people seem to be optimistic. Why is there such pessimism in Europe but not the US? Are Americans out of touch with reality? Economist Max Fraad Wolff from The New School says Americans have a weak safety net when it comes to employment, if you lose your job there are no federal benefits that are available in Europe.

US economic outlook 'clouded'


was exactly 2 years ago today that Lehman Brothers filed for bankruptcy when it could not find a buyer and the US Government would not bail out the company. So, what has changed to ensure that this will never happen again? Unfortunately, the United States financial forecast is still cloudy two years after the collapse of Lehman Brothers.
