"US debt is largely fictitious"

"US debt is largely fictitious"

The United States is in serious debt but the latest numbers show the US national debt has surpassed $14 trillion. From June, 2010 until the end of the year the US racked up another trillion dollars worth of debt. Economist Michael Hudson says the important thing to realize is the government doesn't borrow money it creates it, the whole issue of whether the US has a debt problem is largely fictitious.

Fed Reserve: What's another $600 billion?

In an effort to boost the economy, the Federal Reserve announced a second round of bond buying that is called QE2. They plan to buy $600 billion of long-term government bonds by the middle of 2011 to further drive down rates on mortgages and other debt. The hope is that this will speed up the economic recovery and force job growth, haven't we seen this before?

Peter Schiff: "US in process of collapsing"

Peter Schiff: "US in process of collapsing"

As the US financial crisis continues, the G20 has started to take place in South Korea. Going into the meetings the US hopes to "rebalance" the world's economies. Can US treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner do anything substantial at the G20 meetings? Peter Schiff from Euro Pacific Capital says for the US to continue its failed policy and blame other countries for what is an American problem makes no sense.
