Splashing about in the cool waters and chomping on fresh salmon, these fascinating images show a group of grizzly bears enjoying their very own spa day at an Alaskan waterfall.
Plucking fresh fish from the water and lazing around in the scenic landscape, the huge brown bears seem rather relaxed as they indulge in some hydrotherapy.
American photographer David Silverman, 53, captured the stunning images just 50 feet away from the dangerous animals at Brooks Falls.
He spent four days at Katmai National Park and Preserve and managed to witness them enjoying what appeared to be a pamper day.
However, the serenity didn’t last too long and the furry animals soon began squaring up to one another and baring their sharp teeth.
Several photos show them grappling with each other, while another shows an extremely brave fisherman stepping into the water to compete with the bears for some lunch.
Brooks Falls is hugely popular with grizzly bears with more than 2,000 flocking to the river each year thanks to the large presence of fish.
