US Secretary of Defense Robert Gates is currently in China aimed at improving military ties between Beijing and Washington. Asia Times Correspondent Pepe Escobar says China is proceeding with extreme caution, they know the US would like to keep a foothold in Asia and are listening to the US carefully.
