Transgendered people demand rights
Melissa Sklarz is the Director of the New York Trans Rights Organization and she is playing a lead role in efforts to pass the Gender Expression Non-Discrimination Act (GENDA) in the New York legislature. Sklarz says it will take time to earn the rights that would protect transgendered people under law. She adds that it took African Americans, gays and lesbians sometimes hundreds of years to gain their rights.
