Ramadan kicks off amid Islamaphobia
It's the beginning of the Islamic holy month for Muslims all over the world and while many are gearing up for the festivities and celebrations, others are worried the month could see an uptick in anti-Muslim actions nationwide. According to the Council on American Islamic Relations, the rise in Islamophobia stems from the plans to build an Islamic center new Ground Zero in New York City and separate campaigns launched by right-wing groups around the country.
