The Epicenter of the Occupy movement, Zuccotti Park, continues to grow even a month after its birth. Occupy Wall Street has been broadcasted via the internet on GlobalRevolution.TV. This is in reaction to the lack of news coverage on TV. Many other demonstrations are joining in on the online broadcast. Could this replace the mainstream media?

First video of Athens night clashes as Greece fights austerity
Firefighters were called in late on Wednesday to extinguish piles of rubbish set ablaze by protesters in Athens after riots broke out during a demonstration by about 100-thousand people on the first of a two-day general strike. Violence spread across the centre of the city earlier in the day, following the massive anti-government rally against painful new austerity measures. Authorities said about 3,000 police were deployed on the capital's streets.

Author and activist Naomi Wolf has been added to the list now hundreds of names long of protesters arrested during the ongoing Occupy Wall Street demonstrations. A group of around 50 participants in the movement, including Wolf, had been in attendance outside of a gala that was honoring New York Governor Andrew Cuomo at New York's Skylight Studios. While Gov. Cuomo was being lauded as "Game Changer of the Year" at the awards ceremony, Occupy Wall Street protesters were expressing their detest over the politician's opposition to extending a tax on millionaires and his support of hydraulic fracking.

Occupy San Diego protesters maced by police
The incident occurred on Friday, October 14 when Occupy San Diego protesters formed a human chain to protect their site from the police in the San Diego Civic Center. In this effort to remove the camp, the police maced several protesters, threw at least two of them on the ground, twisted one protester's arm, and another protester, who was badly maced, was taken to the hospital. As of now, the protesters are still occupying the plaza.

Uygur tells RT that even though the mainstream media and most of America have acknowledged the demonstrations, President Barack Obama has yet to. New York police officers may be given a sharp rap over the knuckles for allegedly heavy-handed tactics against 'Occupy Wall Street' protesters. And it's this video, taped last Friday, that gave ground for one of the inquiries. The officer, thought to be a deputy inspector, was filmed grabbing an activist from behind, punching him in the face, and knocking him to the ground. An independent agency that deals with complaints against New York's police says it's also looking into an officer using pepper spray on peaceful female protesters. The campaign against big business and banking in the U.S. has entered its fifth week. And as RT's Lucy Kafanov reports, the movement is becoming more and more popular.
